I am actively seeking a position "home" in the Pacific Northwest where I was born and
raised.

My principal areas of expertise include intern management, application development,
and financial management.

In my current position of Computational Scientist, at the
Shodor Education Foundation in
Durham, NC, I have mentored over thirty high-school and undergraduate interns
preparing for careers in science and technology.  While, I am assigned some pressing
application development work myself, my primary job description is to mentor interns in
developing online application materials.  As a result, over the past three years both my
technical expertise and my communication and management skills have been
developed.  Some of my interns have come back to me to report how I have influenced
their decision to pursue a career in science and technology.  My most rewarding feeling
at the end of the day is knowing I have helped someone.  Please review my
technical
resume for details covering my technical and managerial experience.

I have held two volunteer financial positions in my working career, both at churches I
have belonged to.  That, coupled with a personal interest in proper fiscal management,
have influenced me to explore career possibilities at financial institutions or pursue
financial positions within an organization.  A pastor and a deacon at my church have told
me they had never had a Financial Secretary at the church in the fifteen years they had
been members who has shown more attention to detail or has shown such a passion
for a job well done.  Please review my
financial resume for details covering my financial
positions.

The
Shodor Education Foundation, my current employer, is a non-profit organization
dedicated to fostering a new workforce in science and technology among students at an
early age.  Since the materials we develop are given away on the Internet, we rely on
agencies such as the
National Science Foundation for funding.  When submitting
grants, we are required to submit a Curricula Vitae describing who we have or plan to
collaborate with if the grant is funded and to demonstrate we have an adequate skill set
to properly use the funds.  Please review my
NSF resume  for a listing of my science
and technology experience acquired at Shodor as well as my collaborations at Shodor.

Thank you for your time and consideration.  I look forward to hearing from you and for the
opportunity to work with you.

Sincerely,

Matthew E. DesVoigne
